Still small voice.......

The closer I come unto Christ the easier it is for me to see him in my everyday life. Today a friend of mine offered to help me pick up a table (more on that when I learn to post pictures!) and I in return was going to buy lunch. The morning was busy and I didn't get to the bank so before he got to my house I grabbed the money from my stash. The small voice said take enough for lunch, me being the know it all thought NO I have my debit card! So off I went. We picked up the table and stopped at 5 Guys for lunch. They were really really busy so we left and went to Genghis Grill. Had a wonderful lunch and when it came time to pay, guess what???? I didn't have my debit card!!!! It was sitting on the seat in my van in my driveway at home. I had laid it there the night before after picking up dinner. Did I have enough cash? No! because I didn't listen!!!! All turned out well. I never leave home with out my American express card!!!!! Which I'm sure 5 Guys didn't take!!!! Next time I will act on those promptings!

Father's Day....

My dad has been gone for sometime now. I miss him. He was my biggest fan and my buddy. He loved to dance around the kitchen. He called it the soft shoe! When I was a little girl I loved for my dad to lay in bed with me. I would curl up next to him and lay my head on his arm. I felt so safe and loved. I learned unconditional love from him. I think I have seen a glimpse of how Heavenly Father loves each of us because of my dad. One summer I worked down the street from his office. He would ride the bike to work and let me take the car. At lunch there would be a race to see who would get home first. The first one home got to pick the TV program. His, Perry Mason, mine- All My Children. As the summer grow hotter I would pick him up and he would say "lets get home and see what kind of trouble Erica is causing!" He suffered from Parkinson's and the shaking would drive him nuts. One time we were going some place and he was driving and we were at a stop light. All of a sudden he slapped his hand. I jumped and looked at him. He laughed and said sometimes the shaking just drives me crazy! The most touching things that happened was when I came home for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. When I got to the house I went upstairs to his bedroom. He heard me coming and had gotten up and when we reached each other and hugged he had tears in his eyes. I'm really glad that there is a day to reflect on our fathers. Here's to you dad!!!!!
